TikTok and Juvenile Emotional Plateau

I read the Executive Order.  It is the demarcation of a territory.

But what about this demarcation of a mysterious territory which is the size of a hand-held device?  Within this territory, an Intellectual Battlespace (IB) which seeks out the mind and emotions of a child.  TikTok is a land of insurgencies.  And the gregariousness to be found on the platform does not necessarily allude to friendliness.  It may be something entirely different.  What I do know - is that it is a social organization without love.  And sometimes, it can expose that which is inhuman within our own species.

The "Benadryl Challenge" in 2023 killed a child; as did the "One Chip" Challenge.  The "Dusting" Challenge was basic huffing - and I had a teen friend who died from the practice years ago. We are confronted with "Johnny Somali" and bullies like Jack Doherty.

What is problematic about TikTok is that it comes down to the issue of time.  If you control another individual's time, you exert power over them.  Employment. It is a powerful but necessary component of time.  Show up, you get paid. Refuse to be bound to a time constraint, and you will be fired.  Of course I have the odd thoughts too.  Members of the Muslim Brotherhood pray Al Fatiha 17 time a day.  This is a powerful control mechanism to reinforce good order and discipline.   So across the board, our lives are dictated by time.

Time is distilled on TikTok. And the distillation can be toxic. It is an imperceptible but powerful control over children and their behavior.

The child views something for thirty seconds and absconds with their grandmother's nutmeg spice. An hour later, they are hallucinating and on the way to the hospital in an ambulance. Problematic is that TikTok, unlike reading, does not allow for moments of reflection and contemplation. It does not strive to introduce conceptual arches, or literary frameworks. It can sometimes function like a primitive negative feedback loop working against the natural neuroplasticity of childhood.  And it is akin to giving a child a shot of Vodka.

I worry about juvenile emotional plateau.  When I take note of an immature TikTok presentation by a 22 year old, did emotional plateau begin in 2018 when they first began to enter the territory at age fifteen?

President Trump wishes to retain TikTok under greater control within our marketplace.  But can we save us from ourselves?  There are still sufficient "Captain Hook" to be addressed with this product.  And do we relish our children being Peter Pan for the rest of their lives? Perhaps it is time for parents to deny their children the TikTok app; cordon of that particular tent within that very small hand-held territory which is populated with hidden dangers.
