Chasing the Dragon


Our children are chasing the dragon.   But it is possible the dragon first began to chase his victims in the 1990's when neighborhoods were flooded with cocaine to support the dark ops of one of our alphabet agencies.  And it was the black American children who first got a taste for the stuff.  And the devastation to their communities cannot be overstated.

The film, "Kill the Messenger",  reminds me that great investigative journalism does exist;  and these courageous individuals work to bring truth - the ultimate disinfectant - regarding the moral rot which exists within some of our most well-funded agencies.  Gary Webb was one of those individuals.  And for his meddlesome truths, he paid a high price.

This week, I followed the story of a Dallas rapper, involved in a shootout at an Irving, Texas muffler shop.  Young black male.  Videos show him displaying large stacks of cash. And then there are the lyrics... the lyrics which drive the drug culture and the movement of the drugs within the music industry. Edgy.  Devil may care. Filthy without purpose or reason.

But it isn't really about his genius, now is it?  And was the dispute about the cost of a vehicle repair, or was the muffler shop part of a network which moves  drugs onto the streets of the city?  What was FBG Murda's real transaction?

Unfortunately,  Hell doesn't have a ground floor.  And when we imagine our drug-addled children have hit the bottom, they merely buy a shovel and keep digging; desperately digging for more drugs. Isn't it time to reclaim our kids?

I appreciate the aggressive stance of the Trump administration in pursuit of the cartel leadership.  But we also must deal with the sewer sluice gates which exist within our municipalities which keep the drug sewage flowing into our neighborhoods.  And while it might not be Zak's Muffler Shop in Irving, Texas - I am fairly certain that such businesses exist across the state.  We need to take it down from the top, but then roll it up from the bottom too.  But as far as FBG Murda - let him create his next rap song from a prison cell.

Charlie Kirk Memorial: Live Blog: The Largest Church Service in Human History
