The God of Imagination
Briefing:
What is the financial toll on houses of worship that provide layers of security for what our forefathers meant as a Constitutional guarantee? I cannot locate a solid national metric. There are sites which provide individual cost for campus security. Misery always generates income. Church security is a burgeoning service sector business.

As we are fond of saying in Texas, Chuck Chadwick is the "local boy made good". He has a template. And now he gets to sell it.

I have done my part for the Lutheran church. Months ago I pointed out to the family pastor that it is a short sprint from the narthex to the long, narrow corridor where we teach our children. Imagine herding cattle into a pen. But in this case, it would be akin to rounding up feral cats and dragging them down the hallway to the back exit. The situation is remediated. A parishioner is paid to remain seated in the narthex during worship.
Main Body:
Christians - those who believe the command, "Thou shalt not kill", are violently confronted by Americans who worship a god of their imagination. There was an active unzipped imagination when Audrey Elizabeth Hale attacked Covenant School in Nashville. Audrey thought she was a regular guy.
In Minneapolis, The Annunciation Catholic School where the bold message is proclaimed, "This is the House of God and the Gate of Heaven" became a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Yesterday, an evil man attacked a house of worship in Michigan. I do not adhere to labels because they are pigeon-holes which drive senseless conversations. Evil - is the universal label on the garment worn by the shooter. Call him out and call out his god. His action were hybrid. It was a copycat of the prior two attacks. He brought the standard weapon, and then he added explosives. How many of the deceased suffered wounds which impeded their movement away from the inferno?
Debriefing:
We can add Jersey barriers. Gun turrets can replace the Cross atop the roof. And then we just might be confronted with another Dylann Roof. He merely joined a Bible Study and executed nine parishioners, including the senior pastor and a state senator.
Can we protect ourselves? Not in the truest sense. This is not only about dialing down the rhetoric, the billions of opinions which are being shared every second of the day. It might also be about cleverly curbing the enthusiasm of participants in hate forums with even more clever PSYOP. How many lunatics does it take for a group to merit an F.B.I caretaker that keeps them on the merry-go-round? That has to be the world's worst job.
Ultimately, this is about the internal conversation the individual is having with himself and the god of his imagination. That god, just might be Satan.
