Congressional Taxidermy Consults

In humane societies, the aging should be supported with dignity.  But perhaps our tax dollars should not continue to pay for the feeding tubes of our elderly, compromised Congressional body.

Isn't it about time that we consider taxidermy consults for our decrepit Congressional leaders who are lead about and propped up by puppeteers, otherwise known as their staff members?   The remote memory is still good. This allows them to give an appearance of functionality. But they cannot walk unassisted, have lost oratory skills, and remain obstinately barrel-chested against any suggestion regarding resigning for the good of our nation. The only thing lacking is they need to be stuffed and propped up.  Instead, their offices hire great ventriloquists.

Every damn one of them want to keep the feeding tube. You know, that feeding tube with a high osmolite load of power?  My own musings lean toward, "Ignore the ordinary adulterer. Stand clear of the one with a lust for power."

This is not about age.  It is about having a robust Congressional body capable of performing their duty with the highest level of intellect  (an oxymoron) and capability (I feel a limerick is in order).

Pelosi shrieks.  McConnell freezes with (either) transient ischemic attacks or Parkinson's disease. Regardless, his neural pathways are no longer firing off signals correctly.

Senator John McCain?  Some called it courage. I called it humiliation.  He humiliated himself, made himself smaller, for his unwillingness to recognize his dire medical decline.  Should he have spent his final months making memories with his family?  Yes.  But he just couldn't do it.  Power was the mistress which could not be spurned.

O.K.  I cannot help myself - hence the limerick::

There once was a man from Nantucket.

No longer could pee in the bucket.

He took to the halls, of Congress with falls.

The people all shouted, "Oh F-ck it!"

Not my best work - but then again, I am not the Irish Congressman who entered the White House wearing diapers.
