Disruption

He has disrupted economic markets,  culture,  education.  But the most formidable disruption is being experienced within the Department of War.  Potentiating our oath keepers as a national human resource for strategic lethality and operational capability remove us from the languishing years where service was reduced to servitude:  Servitude within a social laboratory which honored mental illness, servitude which allowed (a few) women to punch above their combat proficiency, and servitude to mediocrity which promoted based on a desirable identity profile as opposed to proficiency.

Donald J. Trump.  Golden Eagle.  He continues to drop the goats off the cliff.

A bighorn sheep was just dropped - and Admiral Alvin Holsey will be piped off the ship in December. We should all thank him for his long career and service to the Department of the Navy. He deserves the respect of our nation. But to plummet from such a height near the end of a career is the stuff of disruption.

The Southern Command, led by Admiral Holsey, had control of counter-narcotics operations removed from their quarterdeck and handed to the II Marine Expeditionary Force stationed at Camp LeJeune.  This makes perfect sense to me. Mobilize the force which is trained for lethal actions and a rapidly disappearing footprint.  Mobilize the force which doesn't give a rip about humanitarian aid, but can spit out the complete history of Chesty Puller. Use to the fullest capacity, the generational descendants of Iwo Jima.

Not one to mince words, the POTUS announced the C.I.A. will be operating inside Venezuela.   It is not covert, in the truest sense, if you announce it to President Maduro.

Sadly, as a "missionary kid" we cut our teeth on the narrative that missionaries to central and south America were all "C.I.A. agents".  This was especially true,  during seasons when my nation was mounting/fomenting unrest seeking regime change in various Latin "muy caliente" spots. Expect a missionary or two who call Venezuela home to be expelled or arrested and paraded about to create problems for our DepState. Power projection should never harm American pawns on the geopolitical chessboard.  The POTUS lacked discernment regarding the fragility of relationships between Protestant missionaries and the nations which host them.  He certainly doesn't understand the concept of nuances.

Should the POTUS move forward with his plans?  Yes.

Venezuela has gotten away with criminal mischief for more than a decade.  Antagonistic interests have played their part - whether it be dicking with the algorithms which determine fuel reserves - or mounting their own operations inside Venezuela. Nothing has proven particularly effective. Maduro plods along in predictable manner.

So it is time for escalation.

This is not just about Venezuela.  Don't kid yourself.  The Russian Federation, Tehran, and China have platformed in Venezuela and elongated their influence over the region.  The Western hemisphere has not vigilantly guarded against political aspirations which seek to encroach and consume our sovereignty.

The disruptions are just beginning for Venezuela.  It is small signal burst - with just a modest handful of narcotic-bearing swift boats blown out of the water; and a few criminals incarcerated at sea in a Navy ship brig. These are warning shots across the bow.

President Maduro is about to face the greatest challenge to his illegitimacy.  Death waits in the dark.  But death may also come at high noon. Because if it is the US Marines, they don't mind, and you don't matter.

A cliff awaits him.
