Hamas: Why There Will Be No Peace
If President Trump is to be believed, the Middle East is on the verge of a peace deal which will tilt the earth right off her axis. But if Hamas is to be disbelieved, this is just about survival and living to fight another day.
This link - is the best reading for the Hamas Covenant. I have read it many times.

While the document is written using "balagha", the eloquence of speech attributed to the fourth Caliph Ali, the document has distinct deficits. Not quite as nonsensical as "The Green Book" written by Muammar Gaddafi - it does come in a close second. And in a sloppy, synoptic way, it reminds me a bit of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran. But then again, there are echoing militant thoughts that remind me of this document:

Rule of Thumb? Anytime the "prophetic" is used as a justification for a militant constitutional document - we are left with an eternal hair-on-fire disaster. The documents (and book above) are all "cousins" in the Islamic literary sense.
What was ignored on 23 February 1998 gave us a shark bite on 9/11/2001. And what was not dealt a death blow in 1988 gave birth to 7 October 2023.
Let's take a minute and examine the weaknesses to be found in the Hamas Covenant.
After informing those-of-us-who-do-not-care to enter a treaty with Allah as to the cost of our insolence - we are presented with the pre-emptive pardon for any future actions. At this point, I know the reading is going to be quite fun.
Here is the question. What forgiveness can be received for the 1,200 deaths on 7 October which also included rapes and mutilations prior to death? What forgiveness, for mass kidnappings of 251 men, women, and even a beautiful red-headed baby? God, if He is God, cannot be cast into the mold of men in time of conflict. War, merely shows us of our need for God. And doctrine should never serve as a bulwark against the need for clear vision when conducting a professional war of defense for a nation. Should we kill in a just war, serving under a professional chain of command, if there is a primary forgiveness, it should be for not keeping our oath of office. Let those who send us to war seek forgiveness for the remainder. Our job, is to perform our duty. Period.
Article II speaks of the science of the occult. Having observed a secretive Sufi rite, I stand as witness to the paranormal aspects of Islam. This too - is a weakness - because it defies logic.
Article VI: If under the wings of Islam, followers of all religions can co-exist, it seems that it should really read all religions except Jews, Hindus and Christians.
Article VII: Reinforces the bigotry and anti-Semitism.
Article XI speaks of an Islamic Waqf - an eternal and binding holding of a piece of land by a Muslim population. It is a concept which is not generally understood by non-Muslims, no more than we understand Dar al 'Ahd.
Islam - has yet to enter an era of enlightenment with their own Peace of Westphalia. Hamas does not recognize the distinct benefits which were achieved by solidifying the concept of sovereign nation states which would no longer be bound to the primacy of religious considerations in waging wars. Hamas has optic nerve damage.
Article XIII: Confronting a Gordian knot and imagining there is only one solution shows a lack of agility in thought processes.
Article XVI: Dooming a generation to a dismal future. Shouldn't the students be studying quantum physics, string theory, mechanical engineering, and biochemistry? Be a hafiz. But be a hafiz who can hold a job and support a family, damn it!
Articles XVII and XVIII: I have no use for women being reduced to brood mares.
Article XXII: It is just a really bad display of a persecution complex.
Well, since I cannot take much more I will end with a bit of humor. Article XXXIV tells us that Palestine is the navel of the globe. Not to be outdone, I would like to remind the readers that the South is the "Bible Belt" and Texas is the "Buckle on the Belt".
Cheers!
