The Young Republicans Club
Character requires disciplined thought. And disciplined thought allows for discreet conversations. Discreet conversations can make allowances for future disciplined and public disclosures.
We imagine ourselves in a Faraday cage. We imagine little possibility of data extraction. And then we are confronted with Luke 12:3 (KJV).

When I began to actively engage geopolitical journalism, I created a compartment in my brain for Islamic knowledge which was kept under lock-and-key. I engaged international players with high levels of discipline and strong political creed. This compartment was created to properly archive and safeguard confidential information. But it was also a compartment which kept my own character in order and my oath of office intact. This was my Beta model of "Telegram". In reality, it became a SCIF.
After the release of the trove of documents by Edward Snowden, the realization punched hard. Nothing is untouchable regarding what travels across our internet nodes of activity. I turned to cryptographic annotations within small black moleskin journals. A colleague is in possession of one of the journals. Several years ago - I chose to not keep any notes at all - trusting that the bones of a story would remain; but a metatarsal might be missing. The leprous journalist loses a toe and keeps moving. smile
Today, everyone takes on the mantle of a journalist, a low I.Q. "influencer", a vapid and vacuous micro-blogger. Everyone has something to say - and this is good. Freedom of expression is a truth serum for character. Keep talking! We are all interested in a re-imagined Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Is your need to be heard, play games with misinformation, create disinformation, or are you at the pinnacle of the pyramid? Just insufferably stupid?
Stupidity is the commodity which gives negligible benefit, unless of course, it is cross-pollinated into a group of equally fun-loving stupid people. What fun! Until the chats were leaked.
Matthew 12:34-35 comes to mind. The Young Republicans have a brood of vipers nesting within their organization.
You are stupid, if as the average citizen you imagine conversations encrypted. I have friends who use end-to-end encryption. One of my brothers will send scandalous memes. He is Peter Pan with a cell phone and I enjoy seeing how his humor works. He is harmless and has a heart of gold. But he is right there at the bottom of the pyramid. wink
You move up the pyramid if you join a tribe of men who like to banter whilst throwing out signature statements about Hitler or monkeys. These primates point the finger back at themselves. And you are an absolute idiot if you are the face of an organization and choose a misguided form of male bonding over basic chivalry and character.
I believe in freedom of expression for all of the right reasons. I take a look at Gunther Eagleman nearly every day as a metric for emotional pulse. He is not a journalist and a bit of a rascal who provides entertainment value. He is also a propaganda counterbalance to individuals like Michael Moore. He does micro-blogs bursts, discussing cultural and social issues, but from the other side of the street.
