The peasants-beyond-the-moat worry about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's  announcement that beef prices will hit ten dollars a pound.  He is speaking of a lowly sixteen ounces of hamburger.   New York Strip steaks are already $17-18 dollars a pound in the Dallas market.

There are deep pockets of poverty within our most vibrant cities. And within inner city Dallas tonight, there are black Americans who will be dining on what is known as a "ghetto feast".   The host  provides a nice pot of Ramen noodles.  Each guest contributes a can of vegetables to add to the pot. It is a protein-free dinner with a lot of color.  

There are no peasants in Congress.  All enter with ambitions.  All leave - with enviable wealth portfolios.

Live Blogging:  Charlie Kirk Memorial Blackfoot is comfortably snoozing in a different time zone.  So I will go ahead and start the post.  Undoubtedly, when I return to the desktop, Blackfoot will have added a few thoughts and I will enter the arena again. Security.  The word floated across my consciousness several times yesterday.  The perimeter of two stadiums and parking lots must be secured for the Charlie Kirk Memorial.  Within full envelope surveillance are tricks of the trade which most of us are unaware of - in blissful manner.
