Janus in the Oval Office


It is an administration with neuroplasticity.   And we have a POTUS of beginnings, transitions, duality, different perspectives regarding the realities facing our nation and with miniature frames for all his ridiculous narratives.

His named is Donald J Trump.  His real name is Janus.

The news below bitch slapped me into the next county last night.  So as a twist to the current commentary, indulge the whimsical side of me which now places a second headline on the blog:

The Amputation of Justice


There is a concept which is vital for vascular surgeons.  It is "life over limb".   I was at bedside with one of our surgeons as he discussed a lower limb amputation for a diabetic with a diseased and necrotic lower leg.  The man was not quite ready for the body image change nor the loss of mobility. Dr. Ali told the client, "Either we take the leg, or you die."  As we walked away, the surgeon said to me, "Tammy, it is life over limb."  And encapsulated in those three powerful words, the fortitude required for the surgeon to remove the leg of an otherwise healthy appearing man.  And the ability to guard against any sense of guilt associated with his actions.

We have come far in medicine now.  In the right circumstances, a skilled surgeon can re-attach a finger from a traumatic amputation.  But what a surgeon can never agree to, is to re-attach a diseased limb which has been purposefully removed to save the life of the client.

The one face of Janus offers up his Secretary of War who boldly states, "We have only just begun to kill narco-terrorists."  The same face of Janus informs the public in a Truth Social post,  "To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY."

But the other face of Janus tells us that former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez was "treated very harshly and unfairly" - hence the Executive Action to pardon him.  

In all honesty, it would take the most skilled of Sherpa to climb that Himalayan peak which starts with 400 tons of "snow" on the ground and ends with clear-sighted sagaciousness which makes the "snow" all disappear with the flourish of a pen.   What the Fuck just happened?

On granular level,  the Texas Health and Safety Code (481.112) has guidelines of 5-99 years of incarceration for possession with intent to distribute 4-200 grams of cocaine.   Juan Hernandez has  only served  sixteen months for bequeathing 400 tons of cocaine on the U.S. which is an astounding 4.5 billion individual doses.   Janus - intends to set him free.

The panoramic view from the peak which looks down on the disappearing snow?  It is the (most likely) hundreds of individuals involved in monitoring the drug traffic, identifying the state and non-state actors, patiently building the case against Juan Hernandez, and bringing him to justice.  What we will never know, is if we lost any of our own agents involved in this very sensitive and dangerous task.

Is this really just reduced to a financial negotiation?  Are funds from the Hernandez drug empire about to be quietly appropriated for our C.I.A. Black Ops... disbursed to other projects of interest?  This decision is about money. It has to be.  There is no other valid explanation. But here is the kicker.  Everything cannot be reduced to a financial negotiation.  Because when it comes to death, there is no negotiating with death. From 2019 to 2023, cocaine-involved deaths in the U.S. rose 85 % to 29,449 deaths.

So while the Department of War sends up a Bow wow! as they release grainy images of our drones blowing up shit (with no real confirmation regarding the load manifest for the watercraft) and they want us to thump our chests along with them, the wind is being sucked right out of the chests of Americans who have lost their children to Juan Orlando Hernandez' cocaine empire.

The Department of Justice amputated and removed a very large diseased limb from our nation.  President Trump just re-attached it.
