Shopping with ISIS 


In what is just the latest episode of "Shopping with ISIS",  we have Milo Ali Sedarat,  Tomas Jimenez-Guzel and Saed Ali Mirreh shopping about to commit crimes on U.S. soil. 

"In two criminal complaints totaling nearly 60 pages, the government detailed disturbing chats... including some chats that involved their aspirations to behead infidels and carry out a 'Boston bombing-like attack.'"

Did they envision something like this?


I have a bit of a quirky theory regarding young American adults like Milo, Tomas, and Saed.  The whole thing begins with self-loathing.  They know they are evil little shits because they hate just about anyone and everyone that crosses their paths.  But they are smart enough to understand this type of hatred is self-destructive.  Being the average malignant narcissists, they have figured out a need to hoist the burden of their hatred upon others.  This pent up and bottled up energy is now uncorked and they feel better.  Really, they do!

Hatred always seeks a target.  But because these guys are also egotistical beyond-the-standard deviation, not only do they seek a target,  but now they must locate a "cause". The schemes are part of a bigger scheme. The chats begin to resemble a Venn diagram.   Turkey comes into view.  Syria!  Who doesn't want to travel to Syria?  But before leaving, "Let's not forget that quiet lil' Jewish synagogue in our city.  Our minds are made up!  Damn the Jews!  Just look at them! Who is this genius that enlightened me?!"

They choose to go shopping with ISIS.  Now there is a reason for wanting to behead their neighbor; a reason for attempting to blow the kahunas off the man or  reason to send a metal bolt and nails into the head of a small child.  ISIS has given them a nice menu of options.

Tahrir Square was a self-determination movement.  I am o.k. with such things. But Milo, Tomas, and Saed?  The Sponge Bob Square Pants team forgot that America already had her self determination movement in 1776.  And they are beneficiaries of a Constitutional document which has served us well. Nothing can be offered to us which we do not already possess.   We are America.  And we offered you everything.  Including that  Starbucks.

In what is a bit of irony, this triad of fools have created a self determination movement.  They determined a course of action so let them fist pump their way through the Department of Justice.

The Department of Justice should also offer  a menu of options:

Plea bargain:   You are going to plead for your very life.  Naked, on your knees, and in front of the court.  I oppose stripping prisoners naked. It is inhumane.  An exception should be made for these men.

Prison bargain:  Choose a penal colony located near the Mariana Trench or on the North Pole. Good riddance.  Society will not miss you.

Labor bargain:  Hard work can sometimes knock some sense into the most senseless of young men. Drop them off at the top of Boundary Peak in Nevada with a rope and a couple of bottles of water.  Wave goodbye.

I take this personally.  I might be the beheading.  My family might die in a bombing.  Or like Michael Wetzel, be snatched from the bundle of the living by a Muslim man and his wife who hated Americans.

 Michael lit his candle of Joy and then he left behind a widow and six children.

Do Muslims belong in America?  Yes.  Or course. My own life has been enriched with vibrant friendships.  One of the best vascular surgeons I know - one whom I recommend - is a Muslim.

But anyone who chooses to go shopping with ISIS - is a threat to our way of life and the peaceful co-existence we have worked so hard to establish.  As for  Saed Mirreh,  may his holy war land him in the unholiest of jail cells.

Live Blogging:  Charlie Kirk Memorial Blackfoot is comfortably snoozing in a different time zone.  So I will go ahead and start the post.  Undoubtedly, when I return to the desktop, Blackfoot will have added a few thoughts and I will enter the arena again.
