The World Through a Different Lens
It is not central to the story that the young lady was naked (as was her boyfriend) at the time of the attack. They sought out a quiet area at the edge of a park. I doubt it was adventure sex. Most likely, neither had the financial means to pay for a hotel. Normal people would avert their gaze or merely call in a concern if children are playing nearby. The world through a different lens responded with aggression and violence. This did not start as a robbery. It started as a gang rape and ended with a robbery.

The Advent Season Approaches. And then we enter a twenty-four window of vibrant rejoicing as we end the Gregorian calendar year.

NPR ran a headline about the mass rapes in Cologne, Germany: "Night of Shame". Nope. It was a night of violence. The shame is forever. And 1,200 women reported sexual assaults by migrant men.
AI placed the sea shells in my ears when I asked for information on the sexual assaults in Cologne which began on New Year's Eve 2015 and progressed for literal hours. Ray Bradbury must have written the response.
If there is a prolonged trend, then you have a pattern. And if you have a pattern of violence against native-born women in a nation which hosts tumultuous and uncontrollable waves of Muslim immigrants it is necessary to ask the troubling questions. Why do women encounter increased danger when a certain distinct variable is introduced? Discreet cough.
So that there is no accusation of confirmation bias - which can be easily accessed and assumed to be hidden treasure with a potent digital algorithm which is only a click away - let me place a bit of codified Sunni jurisprudence on the page. Because when you adhere to a gestalt which believes women are property; that they may be traded like Anime cards in time of war; the XY is also in danger in time of peace.
This one sentence sums it up. Should you wish for the reference, feel free to engage me via my e mail. (This book was published in London - which seems appropriate - considering the path which England now happily trods.)
"It is not permitted for any of them to have intercourse with a girl from among the captives until after she has been allotted to him in his share, in which case he may have intercourse with her only after the waiting period (istibra) of one month."
Crude. Pedestrian writing. Certainly not the work of a luminary, like Jean Jacques Rousseau.
I tire of the glad clapping for the "stars" of our own show, Dr. Qanta Ahmed and a man voted "most popular" by our own desperate analytical community, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser. On a personal note, I find both of them to be deeply dishonest because they try to moderate, instead of clean the shop, with regard to the codified harmful teachings of Islam. You will be told that real Muslims do not embrace such primitive practices in a modern age. That what happens in Nigeria... and in Syria... to women and young girls is not the "real Islam", it is tribalism. And in not admitting the truth, that across Muslim majority regions and especially across the African shelf, and in Syria... and before that, in Iraq - that women are considered no better than cattle: Muslims continue to behave as Islam has instructed them to behave. They are the true believers.
The Western powers do not engage in sex trade of captives. Our men do not generally surround vulnerable women and engage in spree rape crimes in the public square. Long ago, we ceased to embrace the thought that women were no more valuable than the average cow. What Islam teaches is not easily dismissed as modern v medieval. It goes much deeper than nice little boxes created within even nicer little cubicles by our best East coast experts.
Islam is fueled by Islamic thought. The engine only sputters when foreign additives such as democratic principles and enlightenment are introduced into the vast fuel system known as Islam. We have introduced sufficient additives in America that for the most part, Muslims will gradually assimilate with small steps toward our greater shared values. A percentage never do - and we should take note of them.
Do I hate Muslims? Of course not. But am I aware of the nonsensical and dangerous lines of thinking within codified jurisprudence? Yes. And we should never apologize for speaking the truth with love.
