Gods in Need of Defense

There is faith.   But there is also the test of the logical man.  If a Qur'an or a Bible... or any number of what are considered holy texts are desecrated does it mean that god is defenseless and in need of aid? 

When a gay artist places a crucifix in a jar with his own urine and labels it "Piss Christ" - am I offended?  Nope.  Andres Serrano was just the average fool.

When (as an invited member of the press corps) I attended the "Draw Muhammad Event" at the Curtis Cullwell Center in Garland, was it disconcerting to view an image of a man with a bomb sticking out of his turban?  Nope.  It is Constitutional right to freely express our views in America.  We are not the United Kingdom.

But was it totally unacceptable to have a uniformed officer  run into the event, yell "Shot's fired" and herd all of us into a hardened area and ruin our evening?  Yeah.  Below - some of the SWAT members who were tasked with securing our event.  




So the question must be asked - but it requires no response.  If a fool named Jake Lang marches into Dearborn, Michigan waving bacon in one hand and a Qur'an and a lighter in the other, should we give a shit?

Nope.  Apply the test of the logical man.  And we should have more men like my friend, Mohamed Elhassan.  And perhaps, a few less double-striped skunks like Jake Lang.  smile

Charlie Kirk Memorial: Live Blog: The Largest Church Service in Human History

Live Blogging:  Charlie Kirk Memorial Blackfoot is comfortably snoozing in a different time zone.  So I will go ahead and start the post.  Undoubtedly, when I return to the desktop, Blackfoot will have added a few thoughts and I will enter the arena again. Security.  The word floated across my consciousness several times yesterday.  The perimeter of two stadiums and parking lots must be secured for the Charlie Kirk Memorial.  Within full envelope surveillance are tricks of the trade which most of us are unaware of - in blissful manner.
