The Coming European Winter

In 2008, I sent correspondence to Sayyed Grand Ayatollah Muhammed Hussein Fadlallah.  I received a gracious (and the) expected measured reply of a jurist.  My initial correspondence was regarding the disposition of the Palestinian people.   The translation of his letter from the Arabic was provided by Dr. Yusuf Ziya Kavakci, a legal Mufti who patiently mentored me for a decade - a man considered both a professional colleague and friend.

There are times when the terrain of the mind is not fully understood until touched by the heart of the other.  The words of the Grand Ayatollah have stayed with me.  And as a professional journalist, I have carefully sifted the words of all Muslims who have given me the gift of time.  It is the least I can do, when an open hand is extended with regard to my questions.

Do not call them Palestinians.  Call them Muslims.   These words,  conveyed by the Grand Ayatollah define a posture, a way of life.   Ahh, yes.  Muslims are like salt in a bowl.   And when Muslims are in trouble, the land of Ribaat (stationing) can be a home in my city, or the mechanic's shop down the street.

Israel's handling of the 7 October terror attack,  and the overwhelming use of military force inflicted on the population of Gaza actually had very little to do with the dynamics which occurred on our college campus, the various terror attacks since these events, the latest Bondi Beach ambush.  This is a dynamic which repeats itself and is variable dependent.

But I fear what we might see in a few short days is a stacked (and not a rolling attack) against a Western target on Christmas Day.  It mist just be an attack mounted by Africans. And my fear is based not only on statistics. It is based on an understanding of the Islamic terrain of the mind and how some Muslims view the battlespace within a hosting nation.

Between 2014-2024 two million Africans sought asylum in Europe.  Six hundred thousand came into the EU in 2023 alone! This year, Italy has received significant numbers of Sudanese, Eritreans, and Somalians.  In the nation of Spain, over 23,000 Africans arrived from the Canary Islands mostly from Senegal and West African nations.  I could go on, but you get the point.  But maybe you do not get the point.  This is not about the ability to accommodate a numeric, rather the ability to accommodate a large infusion of a culture foreign to Europe's civilization and traditions.  Because when traditions are attacked, a nation will fall.

I have stated it emphatically for years:  London has fallen. They just do not know it (yet).

Europe has neglected the control of their border and scorned the preservation of their culture.  They have embraced a disastrous course.  Europe is  only at the beginning point of  sorrows.  And there will be no Treaty of Westphalia with the Muslim population.  Treaties - can be for no longer than ten years.  The Treaty of Hudaibiyah set and established this precedence.

But let's talk about Africa briefly, because Europe is entering a prolonged winter.

While disaffected and disenfranchised Muslims on the African continent still rail against the now distant echoes of colonization by the West, the fact is - the continent is controlled by third world Caesars who treat their populations badly.   But yet, these populations seek asylum in the West with generational memories of animosity - not directed against the black man who now enslaves them - but the white man whom they have been taught to hate.  I have stated before, that it is animosity which can be the carry-on luggage which is carried across the border into the hosting country.  Yes, there is the desire for a better life. Or it might merely be the desire to steal 18 billion dollars from Minnesota's state programs which are subsidized by federal dollars.  Worse yet,  it might be the ridiculous goal to re-establish failed societal models of governance within healthy Western societies hence the micro-colonization of "no go" zones in France.

Flank of thought regarding the terrain of the mind:

Yes - I have met this man and he remains part of the problem. He does not have the African imprint against the West - but the Muslim (Palestinian) imprint prevails. Gaza is also controlled by third world Caesars.

Back to a discussion on African migration into Europe:

It remains important to consider the revolutionary writings which still have resonance and reverberation across Africa... the Middle East... and within the living spaces of Muslims in the West.

The Algerian Revolution comes to mind.   It was a bloody and protracted tumult. But we forget that some of the most potent of the tactical poetics written during that era included writings by Franz Fanon - a man who wrote "The Wretched of the Earth" and  also "The Fifth Year of the Algerian Revolution." From Mystique by birth, he became an Algerian national.  He easily mingled with Europe's elite, including Jean Paul Sartre.  But he was a strident anti-West writer and he hated the West.  And a man who believed in violent revolution made his way to America and later died in Bethesda, Maryland. Why do we lionize the writings of authors who hate the West?  (File under the category: You can't make this shit up.)

How many are aware of the revolutionary writings of the African author Umar Uzgan?  He wrote   "Afdal al-Jihad."  And what about the propaganda arm of the Algerian Liberation Front? Many will recognize their primary "Al Moudjahid", translated into several languages. It churned out ideological thought to the readership. But not many are aware  their call to Jihad which they issued from the pages of their propaganda organ  caused a large number of students from  the Faculty of Medicine and the Polytechnique in France to vacate their student posts and travel to Algeria. They died as Mujahideen.  The question is not as to whether their cause was just, but rather how deeply an imprint, how strong the signal still echoes within the Muslim psyche.

Do not call them Algerians.  Cause them Muslims.  Do not call them Palestinians. Cause them Muslims. They are the salt in the bowl.  And when one region becomes a hot spot of conflict and unrest, other Muslims across the globe respond like the pop-up markets and pop-up restaurants which are now a fad in the West.  But this is not a fad.  It is Jihad.  It is deadly and it always ambushes. And this is a growing  but predictable dynamic.

Please do not insult my intelligence and reduce me to a label of "White Supremacist".  When discussing the terrain of the mind and the intellectual battlespace it is not about color but it is about Islam as government and cultural memory. My writing is thoughtful and not reactionary.  If you want to read nonsense - just hop on over to X.

I fear a pop-up in Europe at Christmas.  I sincerely hope I am wrong.   But Europe is on the cusp of chronic civil unrest.  Europe's leaders  have in single-handed manner allowed the peace under their roof to be destroyed.  Of that, I am sure.
