But within the Muslim community, a female can be killed for much more simple reasons. Breaking free from the coercive control of a head scarf and hijab, disobeying a simple order from the father to never enter a Christian house of worship, dating a non-Muslim (not allowed for women), or posting TikTok videos can place a cord around the neck leaving a lifeless corpse on the childhood bed.
The murder of an American born Muslim girl was accomplished in Pakistan, when the father moved his family back to the nation of birth so that he could get away with the snuffing of his own daughter.
Let it sink in: this monster disrupted the life of his entire family for the sole purpose of Manlian Discipline. And now, the drowning of a teenage girl in Belgium at the hands of her father and two brothers. Her crime? Learning how to grow up and wanting to be free. She forgot - that she was a slave.

These vile actions are discussed by the men, planned by the men, carried out by the men, and covered up by the men. It is my belief, based on my research over two decades, that these crimes are rarely committed in isolation. The men come to a consensus. The woman must die. An ambush follows.
These killings can be preceded by the rape of the young lady prior to her murder. The girl will be defiled prior to her murder because she insulted the "honor" of her father. There are documented cases of this type of hideous behavior, especially in Afghanistan. But since the mysterious wand of the internet tends to scrub anything which blackens the face of Islam - and AI has a lying fraternal twin - these report outs can be hard to locate.
In my own city, the murder of two lovely Muslim teens by their father. This wicked man was a fugitive harbored and cared for by both an uncle of the girls, and their own brother (named Islam). Forget folie a deux. This was definitely folie a trois. And for 12 years, Yaser Abdel Said evaded capture. It was with a sense of satisfaction that I archived his image and charges when he landed in jail.
Sadly, we have encountered scenarios in the West where the mothers are also involved with their husbands in the killings of their daughters. If the beasts of the field have more compassion for their young than the aforementioned relatives in the cases above, what is their taxonomic rank; and what is the kingdom and the phylum. The Kingdom, my dear, is pitch black, for a few Muslims.
Too many of these killings revolve around hijab; the covering of the women. This is not about religious devotion. It is about the coercion and force of the male against the female of the species. You can choose not to believe me. But then again, perhaps you do not understand the back stories for every single ayat in the Qur'an; the key of Ahadith which opens the "code book"; and the seven layers of meaning collapsed into the Qur'an.
It stops, when we stop it. It stops, when we insist that Islam in the West is not an acceptable companion if the women continue to be enslaved by the men. It stops - when we reach out to the young Muslim women in our nation and not only teach them what it means to be free, but make their freedom for religion, manner of dress, and choice of a future spouse, the legally enforced requirement. These are basic freedoms - the last two, fought in hard pitched battles by American women of prior generations. This - is the gift we want extended to future generations of Muslim women who live among us. We owe them - nothing less.
Can we be that People? Or does America count for nought? I am tired of the allowances we make for Muslim men who force the women into an enslaved compliance to a set of rules which has less to do with the Divine and more to do with complete male dominance.
Because we lack the necessary courage - the future of another Muslim girl in America will be denied. And when we look down at her corpse, we will deny that we are at fault.
