The United Kingdom: Evolution of a Police State
Texas Parks and Wildlife wants you to know how to properly shoot your weapon. And in September of 2021, House Bill 1927 gave Texans (over the age of 21) the right to concealed or open carry a weapon without a permit. You can take your holstered weapon into a public library. And in Texas, we now have more guns toted to church, than Bibles.

If you pose with a weapon while on vacation in the Land of the Truly Free, on your return to the U.K. the police will arrest you, harass you, destroy your life, and then drop the charges.

Read my lips: The process is the punishment. And it is a meritless process with the intention of turning an individual's hearth and home into a psychiatric Gulag which can never be escaped. Each British citizen placed in the Gulag will develop the lasting effects of paranoia which will lead to drastic behavioral and speech pattern changes. Each citizen will self-censor their thoughts on social media, in the physical public square, and inside the home - for fear that a senseless Android relative with an Android phone will dash off a text to the coppers. Zip ties handcuffing the brain. It is a nasty state of affairs.
The English need a bloody revolt.
The sentence above contains a noun, two articles, two verbs and an adverb.
If today, I find myself a citizen of England and writing my blog within the privacy of my home, it is anticipated the six aforementioned words will bring the police to my door, and I will be legally charged with making a terroristic threat. You may then send your fan mail to Belmarsh, where it is presumed that I will be dropped into into the deepest and darkest available hole.
What about Adam Smith-Connor? Was his anti-social behavior public masturbation? Was it directing a stream of urine toward HRH King Charles?

Truth is vitally important.
The United Kingdom Gulagmeisters hate weaponry in the hands of the citizens - whether it is cold steel or warmed vocal cords. Within my Blessed nation -The Land of the Truly Free - a gun is considered a weapon of force, residing within a jurisdiction known as self-defense. Properly carried by the properly trained, the general public is rarely at risk. If doing quick and random research of street violence carried out with the use of a gun - a large percentage of these criminals will show no consistent presence at a gun range nor a history of responsible carry. And then... there are the rest of us. wink
But what the Gulagmeisters find completely loathsome is Freedom of Expression. And it also scares the piss out of them. The British are only allowed to voice pre-approved messages; unless of course, it is members of the three great offices of state who serve alongside the Prime Minister (Home Secretary, Foreign Secretary, and Chancellor of the Exchequer); and the overrated feckless Parliamentary body.
In my nation, freedom of expression has been steadily expanded. And when there are set-backs, future and more carefully mounted defenses for freedom prevail within our Supreme Court.
We have experienced a negligible number of misfires by our Supreme Court; but they are rare indeed. Such was the case in Barenblatt v United States (1959). Lloyd Barenblatt had remained silent and secretive regarding his activities in the Communist party. The Court ruled against him in a 5-4 decision with Justice Harlan speaking for the majority, that the right of Congress to investigate "subversive" activities outweighed Barenblatt's right to the privacy of his beliefs. In a fiery dissent, Justice Black eloquently addressed the rights of people as a whole to advocate for causes, join organizations, and even make mistakes along the way without being penalized for having dared to think for themselves. Undoubtedly, the historical timeline of our nation and our relationship with our adversaries had a unique bearing on this case.
My prior blog addressed the issue of Jake Lang making an ass of himself in Dearborn, Michigan. I doubt he is a great thinker, but he is absolutely protected because of a decision handed down by the SCOTUS fifty-five years prior to his birth. Cantrell v Connecticut tackled what was just a rather mundane "breach of peace" penalty against a hot-headed "preacher" from the Jehovah's Witnesses because this man denounced the Catholic Church in a staunchly Catholic neighborhood. To this day, members of this religious sect tend to beat up all others, and most of us just ignore the doorbell when they march about with their constant proselytism. But in 1940, Justice Roberts reversed the conviction of the man and had this to say:
"In the realm of religious faith, and in that of political belief, sharp differences arise. In both fields the tenets of one man may seem the rankest error to his neighbor. To persuade others to his own point of view, the pleader, as we know, at time resorts to exaggeration, to vilification of men who have been, or are, prominent in church or state, and even to false statement. But the people of this nation have ordained in the light of history, that, in spite of the probability of excesses and abuses, these liberties are, in the long view, essential to enlightened opinion and right conduct on the part of the citizens of a democracy."
There is, of course, in the cases of men such as Jon Richelieu-Booth and Adam Smith-Connor, the issue of that "other" weapon which is the distinct domain of men and it is encapsulated in this (hardly) "naughty" little saying: "This is my rifle, this is my gun. One is for fighting and the other for fun."
Every single damn time the United Kingdom strips the men of their vocal cords they also strip them of their God-given testosterone. The British will be properly whipped - and easily so - should they ever confront an enemy. Emasculated men do not perform well on the battlefield.
