Senator Lindsey Graham
"To the Ayatollahs: You need to understand if you keep killing your people for demanding a better life, Donald J Trump is going to kill you.... To the people of Iran, help is on the way."
Senator Lindsey Graham
On small scale, our U.S. Senator ignores the Executive Order of President Gerald Ford which is still in full force. There is a reason why the current administration arrested and did not kill Venezuela's president Maduro.
Of course, Senator Graham is not like Saul - who consented to the stoning of Stephen. (Acts chapter 8) But it is foolish for him to shoot off his mouth in such a brash manner. What is political theater for us - is death knell for protesters in places like Sudan, Russia, and Iran. Our echo of freedom is not a thunderous god-like voice which penetrates the outer edge of darkness on behalf of a people. It is a whispered hope within the confines of prison walls across the globe.
Because we are comfortable with our freedom of expression, small incidents which occur across our landscape on daily basis can escape the attention of our media. And while this outlet views what happened through the lens of deploying a chemical agent, what made it improper is that it was not used in defense of life, but against protesters.

Because we wear our freedom of expression like a warm winter coat, we can forget the cold reality of how protests are dealt with in places like Iran.
The IRGC has established a security cordon around Fardis with road blocks and a robust deployment of riot police. Live ammunition has been used in Kermanshah. Protests in Sharh-e Kord are being sculpted down to the bones. Things are not going well. And the Masaf Institute informed our POTUS he could be slapped and offered this image:
Here is the deal. In 1989, the Chinese learned a valuable lesson. Running down protesters in Tiananmen Square with tanks can be fun. But the lesson isn't that it shouldn't be done - but that these things must be done in private. Other nations also adopted this playbook for handling protesters.
Do you hear the whisper?
Writer's note:
I hesitated writing this post, not wishing to be misunderstood regarding what happened in Minneapolis yesterday. In an evening phone call with a friend I stated, "When the woman was killed, why was her partner not in the vehicle with her? And if her cell data shows she was making a video, this is agitation propaganda which interferes with a law enforcement action."
I found this a few moments ago - prior to hitting "publish" for this blog.

The answer is affirmative. Renee Good's "wife" was filming the altercation. This was a deliberate and not incidental action against oath keepers. It was not protest but agitation propaganda. It is tragic that a woman lost her life for a few seconds of political theater and cellphone coverage. Not to be calloused, but I am grateful the dog and the child were out of the vehicle. To cause the death of another by encouraging foolishness is the underlying reason for what happened yesterday in Minneapolis. Newton's second law came into play. And force and acceleration were met with velocity to save a life.
