Tehran Mounts Counter Protests

Pro-government protests are being mounted in Yazd, and cities in quite a few provinces.  Tehran has also announced three days of official mourning to honor the martyrs of the Islamic Resistance.  Nothing quite like the word Shaheed to get the Shi'a all lined up to join any given glorious cause.

While Western audiences are smugly viewing images of Iranian women lighting up pictures of the Grand Ayatollah with their cigarettes I am observing individuals being efficiently murdered by the weapons of the security forces.  There is a lot of disinformation; with images of street protests from other regions and  different time-lines being presented as ones depicting current protests in Iran.  Nope.  Those cars burning in the streets are in Greece, not Iran.

I just did an AI search of the name "Reza Pahlavi".  It is a narrative but it is not the truth. Who writes this crap?  Quite ridiculous, and just a reminder that we must not allow ourselves to be led by the nose in a digital age.  Reza Pahlavi has been a convenient therapy pet for every President to ever take charge of the Oval Office.  But placing a bigger collar on him does not change the truth regarding how very little impact he has and how outcomes will never be dictated by this man.  This situation is too complex to be reduced to a fading "Crown Prince"  and his call to arms.   Tehran will certainly take advantage of the temporary distraction provided because of our POTUS fascination with Greenland.  Perhaps, gaining a vast chunk of ice should not be the current priority.
