Dr. Onwubiko Agozino: Bigot
I suppose the Caucasian neighbor next door trimming hedges with a pair of shears will present as the next racist threat to a man who is an ungrateful bigot with a large chip on his shoulder.

As a parent, it would terrify me to have law enforcement show up at my door and accuse my teen son of a hate crime. What if the police had decided to investigate this matter further? The families might have spent $$$$$ to defend their child against baseless and cruel accusations.
Dr. Agozino is just another confabulist like Jussie Smollet. We should resist low-character-class men who believe it is acceptable to destroy innocent lives with accusations of a hate crime. What he did was not a harmless antic but a deliberate attempt to target a specific demographic of Americans.
I am against any designation of a "hate crime" because it places Americans within a caste system which is unacceptable. We are created equal and should be treated equally under the law. Mete out the penalty for the crime based on the actions and not a We vs They pigmentation.
Perhaps the families should file a defamation suit against the professor. And perhaps the university should take a moment to see if there is a noticeable disparity in the manner this man grades his students tests. I believe that a disparity will be noticeable and will trend in remarkable manner.

You send your child to a rather expensive university. Maybe work a second job to afford the tuition. And perhaps you are unaware of the substandard performance of a professor in the classroom. Unaware he is not only a bigot, but perhaps a passive bully with his opinions.

I was not seeking confirmation bias regarding his grading - but maybe I nailed it? He seems problematic based on student body concerns. If true, he punishes students not of his race by denying them fair grading practices. He was also given the lowest possible rating by his students.
"English is not his first language. Very hard to understand. Will need to read a lot of suplimental literature to learn anything. Lacks knowledge of American criminal justice. Routinely grades students not of his race lower."
"Content of the course was very shallow, personal opinions of the prof seemed to be much higher priority than any Sociology."
