A War of Increments with Escalation
The King Fahd Bridge was attacked by a UAV a few hours ago. But that is nothing - compared to the attacks on Qatar with reports that in the three days the nation has been targeted by 101 ballistic missiles and thirty-nine suicide drones.
This is a war of increments with escalation and it seems there is an increased operational tempo from Iran.
The emotional pulse and rhetoric is being ratcheted up too - with threats of grinding "filthy Jewish rats" in a meat grinder. Rats and dogs seem to be the most common words in usage to describe Israel and the United States.
Kuwait has arrested several individuals for using social media for agitation propaganda in support of Iran attacking the UAE. Practically speaking, every nation with any sizable Shi'a population will need to engage heightened awareness of what is being disseminated within the mosques and via social media platforms. It is difficult enough to be on a war-footing. But if it is accompanied by a restive and aggressive population, the domestic front might take a precedent.
I am taking note of an unusual uptick in AI-generated "war porn" - or videos and images meant to evoke certain responses in the viewership. The narratives are also geared toward incitement. So as to "who" is watching "what" while seated at a personal desktop also becomes a matter of concern. There is a flood of disinformation.
What is not disinformation - but utterly evil - is how a group in Bahrain has managed to release images of U.S. members of our military who have been killed since February 28th. Three images are from U.S. passports and one image is from an identification card issued by the Kingdom of Bahrain. How is it that CENTCOM announced the identities of the fallen are not being released until next of kin are notified and I am seeing this information already showing on an X feed? How - did this group obtain this information? And should I know this information before their mothers and wives... sisters and brothers.. fathers are notified? It is obscene.
There is also the movement of terrorist groups from Syria to the borders of Lebanon and Iraq. So once again, internal combustion is going to be a secondary outcome for the actions of the United States against Iran.
The powder keg has always existed. But we just lit the fuse. I may stay off the internet a bit tomorrow because this whole thing is just too damn depressing.
