Assessment of Damage: Pasteur Institute of Iran


Reading the news below coming off a Telegram Channel.  The damage to the Pasteur Institute would have occurred during the bombing campaign against the Pasteur District which is a highly secure sector where the Grand Ayatollah had his residence.  This district also houses critical government institutions.

"Some buildings and units of the Pasteur Institute of Iran were damaged and destroyed; However, the planned arrangements have caused the main activities of this scientific and national complex to continue.

Unfortunately, in these attacks, buildings of the Pasteur Institute of Iran were completely destroyed and damage to the devices and equipment in the departments and laboratories has caused problems for the operation of this valuable historical and national complex.

According to the announcement of the Pasteur Institute of Iran, the damaged complex in a space of 24 thousand square meters includes 13 national reference laboratories, 3 partner reference laboratories, 8 health laboratories, 23 research departments, 2 World Health Organization partner centers, 3 biobanks, 3 research network secretariats, 3 research centers, a vaccination unit and a laboratory approved by the Food and Drug Organization."
