Blood Drive in Iran
My best friend was in New York City on 9/11 with his sick father. He left his bedside to stand in a line two blocks long of Americans waiting to give blood. Eventually, they were told to go home. There were no survivors.
The residents of Zanjan are lining up for blood donations. As a Registered Nurse I want you to step back and reflect for a moment on the human face of war. On our side, the return of a seventh soldier who lost his life in defense of our Constitution. On their side, ordinary citizens dragged into a vortex not of their own making.
I am not seeing anything that looks like an off ramp. I am dreading the images which may come across my computer screen tonight. Pray for the children. They are the future of Iran.
