There has been speculation as to why the Grand Ayatollah remained topside - hence was killed.  It is within the realm of possibility that this was his desire because how it would effect outcomes.  Per one report out, his wife did survive for two days in a coma.  The remainder of his family present with him died instantly.  But yes, we whacked the hornet's nest.
