Jimmy Kimmel
The man is a bore. Not even remotely clever or funny. But to call our FLOTUS "an expectant widow" exposes Mr. Kimmel as an individual who lacks compassion; someone who has spent his life minus the gift of empathy.

Should he be fired for his remarks? Nope. Merely allow his ratings to slide, future sponsors decline contracts for ad time and allow his stature to diminish in a gradual manner which reflects the smallness of his soul. If he is fired, he will go out with a roar. Let him be reduced to a pathetic whimper.
There are an estimated 11.6 million widows in the United States.

Sixty thousand children are being raised by widowed mothers in the United States.
Last month three small children from a military family joined their ranks. On 12 March, the wife of Major John "Alex" Klinner abruptly entered the uncertainty-filled universe of widowhood with a two year old son and seven month old twins. Every single member of the military takes the oath with the knowledge that it might be to our own hurt; and to the hurt of our families. I cannot imagine the searing grief felt by this particular mother.

For over two decades, my husband and I have provided practical guidance and support to the widow of a dear friend. We remain a life-line and source of guidance and comfort. She did not know she was an "expectant widow" the day before he died. But I was the first one she notified when she found him deceased. She changed. She changed - when she lost him. Her world abruptly changed too.
Jimmy Kimmel should take a moment and reflect on the manner in which his remarks have impacted his audience. There is nothing... absolutely nothing... funny about tragedy. And to lose a beloved spouse or partner is a difficult life passage. He cannot take back, nor turn back the clock regarding his remarks. But he should not be fired. Let his words stand as a witness against him, against his lack of character, and soon enough, he will find that nobody gives a damn about anything he has to say. Because there is a beauty to freedom of expression. If we talk enough - we remove our masks.
