President Trump's Wormwood Cabinet
They arrived into their appointments like brilliant silvery green foliage. And now, three of the most powerful women in America have left a bitter taste in our mouths. Moving into positions with practically unlimited power, they traded their enviable positions for disgrace on departure. The first, for common mugwart (Artemisia vulgaris) the second, for not recognizing the toxicity of wormwood, and the third, for absinthe.
Kristi Noem - a woman who bragged about putting down a dog that would not hunt - was put in charge of the biggest hunt of all. It seems more likely that her biggest hunt was for personal enrichment and the American dollar. And whilst pursuing her fortune, her mentally ill spouse was left to explore fetish sites and post images of himself with large balloons stuffed under his shirt. Because of her position, Kristi Noem became a security risk - vulnerable to blackmail.

Attorney General Pam Bondi, did not perform with the due diligence (demanded by the taxpayers) in dealing with Jeffrey Epstein; a man practically considered a celebrity celestial being until the wickedness of this prince of darkness was uncovered. He struck the earth with his madness... and with plenty of help from his friends. Ms. Bondi became his final victim - alongside the many little girls whom he trafficked to powerful men within corridors of commerce and government.
Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez De-Remer probably drank too much vermouth (hence the reference to wormwood). But she also committed adultery. In the workplace. With a staff member. It was an easily winnable game of "Clue" for the public. She traded her position for trivialities.
I am a traditional wife and mother who is an ardent feminist. And the latter role can be collapsed into free moral agency. I believe men and women are equal regarding free moral agency and their pursuit of education, goals, pleasure, hobbies, and personal enrichment. But President Trump's Wormwood Cabinet has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Just give me Scott Bessent. He presents as the consummate professional.
