Dogs of War

As an American and a journalist, I have spent two decades within the Muslim community.  I have entered homes... mosques... and parks for Eid al Adha and Eid al Fitr events. Established a friendship with a former ambassador from Pakistan and a mentorship under a legal Mufti from Turkey.  I stand respectfully apart while Muslims perform their prayers if I am a guest in their homes. It is their private observance and they have a right to it.

Under my own roof, I have provided water for ablution and pillow cases to be placed on the floor for a family who was present for dinner and a movie.  This is all about the warmth of hospitality. The Muslim culture has a strong hospitality code.  I have no problem with reciprocation if I am the host.

But I offer up a hearty, "Hell, no!" regarding a "Muslims only" day at a water park which only exists because of the provision of American tax-payer dollars.  There is a basic principle to which I adhere.  Your conviction requires your sacrifice and not mine. Your conviction is not allowed to encroach on my freedom. And the moment you degrade my own equality by your behavior, is the day in which I view you as less the American.

And certainly, a hearty "Hell, no!" for the continued oppression and coercive control against Muslim women by dictating they may not be in the presence of a non-relative male without being covered.   Take a moment and look at the suggested swimwear for the women which is linked to the post above. But then also note the elements of Shar'ia enforcement with ayat about "averting the gaze" and "halal" foods.

Hal (a state) al (before Allah).  A state of purity before (the slave-holding) god.

Unfortunately, Islam politically strengthens by confederacy in nations which host Muslim populations.  At fairly small percentages, Muslims begin to form confederacies, strengthen alliances, and actively pursue taking an ax to the Tree of Liberty.  One of the most basic of freedoms is to dress as you damn well please.   A taxpayer-funded Muslim-only event which excludes other Americans and causes them to feel like foreigners in their own streets with enforcement of Shari'a for an event, must be addressed and banned. 

Even now - in my own city - I can enter certain stores and our area mall and need take a step back.  Am I in America or have I been transported to Pakistan? Veiled and covered women peer out at me.  It might be 108 degrees in the summer, but they are walking tents.  Allah makes demands of them.

Arabic - has no real word for assimilation.  But the Qur'an does have a lot to say about Confederacy, and a complete Surah is dedicated to the topic.

We are seeing combined forces at work.  East Plano Islamic Center is involved, and this particular mosque has been very aggressive regarding the Islamization of Texas. EPIC has pursued the model of the Ottoman Sultanate.  A mosque is built, and Muslims actively seeking home ownership near the mosque create greater concentric circles of Islamic influence, gradually forcing other non-Muslim neighbors out of the neighborhood as they create an Islamic Waqf.  This has happened gradually at the largest mosque in my city.  It is a passive form of colonization as opposed to assimilation.

America is not a political Confederacy.  We are a Constitutional Republic which offers vast and equal freedom to both our men and our women.  America is an expansive idea... an ongoing experiment.  But there is no place in America for the use of our tax dollars to entrench Islamic rules and code of conduct in the public square.  I wrote Governor Greg Abbott this morning.  I asked him to shut this event down.  For all of the right reasons.  And for all Americans.  We must not reject our Constitution.
