In a World of Multipolarity America Chose Unilateral Action

I have never been fond of the United Nations; but I have taken note of the necessity of NATO.  That being said, I hate to see our Secretary of State reduced to Oliver Twist holding out his porridge bowl.

Did we patiently build our case prior to entering Iran?  I don't know how the back channels work.  But it is possible we did not work the channels hard enough or long enough to establish an operational consensus for Operation Epic Fury.  And it is possible we ignored a bit of sage advice from men and women who have worked within the diplomatic and political corridors of the world for decades.  We can't take it all back. And we have no forward momentum. I am not sure what we have left now for available alternatives and/or solutions.

So we are staring into the abyss of zero trust and a black hole of a confidence gap.  And there appears to be no real interface for mutual interest at this point.  Because between Iran mocking us with a triad strategy of drones, mines, and small watercraft,  and what I am seeing as a wicked sense of humor - things are not looking that great.   Project Freedom kind of sputtered out in 48 hours.  And Iran is still zipping across the Strait of Hormuz:

The LEGO AI-Generated videos continue to make a splash.  But on top of that, the IRGC has released an "exclusive video" as their gift to Admiral Brad Cooper.  They offer up a snort:  "While your Commander was busy playing with helicopters, we were watching you down in the southern strait. You tried hard to create a passage, but you failed."

The reconnaissance footage from the strait lasts for three minutes and 56 seconds. The musical score is hideous.  But I get the point.

Worst generated image of the day is this one - with a tagline of "Make Hormuz Great Again". The spray of water - is a nice touch.  sigh

And while President Trump keeps up the happy chatter on his media platform "Truth Social", and whilst we are informed the United States is in full control of a negotiation process which does not exist,  I suppose that what we are about to pay at the gas pump will provide for the excruciatingly painful evidence that not all is going well.
