Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson

She is on the bench of the highest court in our land. With increased stridency, this jurist seems ill-equipped to strike a conciliatory tone with her colleagues. She does not play well with others.

Ketanji Brown Jackson.  And with each attack, she strips herself of the rank afforded her by our Constitution.  More importantly, she diminishes the stature associated with the bench. With her hair on fire (because she did not get her way)  she is reduced to a community activist; a political shill.  Each new snipe attack against her colleagues diminishes her credibility as an individual with the necessary equilibrium for this most difficult career.  There is no meekness - and that cat appears to be wearing burlap instead of the traditional black robe.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson should just calm down.  You win some and you lose some.  And in the greater scheme of things,  even a fight over a loaf of bread made it to the Supreme Court.  Well, not exactly the loaf, but the baker of the loaf and the violation of his rights to determine a work schedule for himself and employees.  This decision is found in Lochner v New York (1905)

Gibbons v Ogden (1824) was about steamboat services.

And the Supreme Court even took up the issue of a ripped pillow case:

So whether it is about baking bread, running steamships, ripped pillow cases, or the most recent Congressional cartography decision, the SCOTUS has dealt with every conceivable problem known to man.

May I suggest an anger management clinic for this particular jurist?

Now to be fair, Justice Antonin Scalia was also a bit of a rabble-rouser.  But he possessed a towering intellect; which might just explain his ego.   I am unconvinced Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is of the same stature.

If you have not read this selection, it is excellent and a thoroughly enjoyable use of your time:
