Jihad Writings

I tire of it.  There is predictability to it.  Immensely boring writing.  And yet, after 9/11 I observed as many six-figure analytical brains earned their keep (or is it earned their coop?) enlightening the rest of us.

And whether it is the Hamas Covenant, Jihad and Jews and Crusaders, or the frothy final words of the Camp Chapman suicide bomber put out there for tasteless consumption - it is truly reduced to three elements:  Protagonist, antagonist and mythology.

If you don't believe me, consider the first Surah revealed to Prophet Muhammad.  The protagonist is Muhammad. The antagonist is Abu Jahl.  He is  to be dragged along by his lying forelock.  The third  element requires no explanation.

The writing above shows an additional element.  It is frustration. For many years I followed the flanks of mayhem and havoc roaming across Syria. When the most powerful flank gained power - it is rumored by use of intelligence from our alphabet agencies - the minions  were invited to integrate into the ranks of Syria's army.  Some chose to do so and leaders received pivotal governance roles. The remaining jihadists are politically marginalized and fragmented.

There may be a lack of additional skills.  You cannot repair washing machines.  But maybe you can build an oven and make naan (bread).  But why would you do that - unless still imagining it an act of Jihad?  When you thrust the wooden paddle with the dough into the tannur it is really the souls of men receiving death by fire instead of by the sword.
