Lydia Mahserjian
Yes, Lydia. I hear you. And I added my signature to the Change.org document you generated when I found you knocking on the door to my e mail.
Please understand: Your elected representatives only real interest is their self-interest. The journalism question applies: "Who Benefits?" It is what I always ask when nibbling around the edges of a story.
What you can do: Run alternative representatives for Mayor and City Council. And then make sure you run the current office holders out of office. Catapult them out of their seats. You deserve better. And hopefully - they will take their short-sighted greed for a temporary financial fix and move to the Mojave Desert.
You have taxation without representation. For this - our forefathers mounted a revolution. Start a legal revolution in North Richland Hills. Anger - properly deployed and without intent to bring physical harm - is a powerful weapon.
I am truly sorry for your sense of betrayal from those entrusted with your well-being.
Lovingly,
Tammy Swofford
Hi Tammy, My name is Lydia Mahserjian. I live in North Richland Hills, Texas, where a data center is being built feet from my home — set to open by the end of July. No one asked me or my neighbors if this was okay, and a second, even bigger one is already being considered. We need to stop this. Sign my petition to halt this data center’s growth until our voices are heard. No one asked us. The land was zoned industrial in 1985, decades before my neighborhood existed, so this project skipped a public hearing entirely and got approved automatically. I found out the way my neighbors did: construction crews showing up feet from our homes on Wuliger Way. It doesn’t stop there: a second data center, nearly 30 times the size, is already being considered on Rufe Snow Drive. I’m not against progress. I’m against being an afterthought in decisions that affect my health, my water, my electric bill, and my home’s value for decades to come. My life’s savings — 20 years of hard work — is invested in THIS house. Large AI data centers can draw as much power as 100,000 households and millions of gallons of water a day — and we don’t even know yet what the constant noise will do to people living this close. That’s exactly why an independent review should happen before a shovel goes in the ground, not after. Every day that passes is a day closer to this AI data center becoming permanent, with a tiny buffer (if you can even call it that), no hearing, and no say for us. That’s why our team of neighbors started this petition. We need a pause on new approvals, have real public hearings and independent environmental reviews, and require ongoing transparency with accountability if something goes wrong. This is happening to my neighbors and me, right now, blocks from where we sleep. I don’t have the luxury of waiting for a better moment to speak up. The Wuliger data center is slated to be completed in late July. Sign now. Tell North Richland Hills: not next to our homes, and not without our say.
