Russia: "From Mad Max: Fury Road" to a Bad "B" Movie
It all started like the film "Mad Max: Fury Road". The 'Vlad ordered his tanks to amass along the Ukraine border. President Biden dawdled because he was a bit diddled in the head. There was no courage for a pre-emptive strike; just stark warnings which would have never frightened a raccoon off the front porch. And when the tanks crossed the border, I put on my party hat and loaded up on popcorn.
It all began like a dystopian film. But it is now reduced to a really bad "B" movie. Boring as hell, and I cannot wait to flee the theater. Predictably, Moscow now sporadically orders that drones belch out a few party favors across the population of Kyiv. And the comedian turned corrupt Ukrainian President sends a fleet of drones to surgically strike a target with deep penetration inside Mother Russia's borders. It now just feels like long commercial breaks for a theater film which should have received a 67% rating from "Rotten Tomatoes".
For our part, we purchased 200 billion tickets for the show. This means each American taxpayer contributed $1,274 to the Ukrainian war effort... U.S. Defense industry which then sells goodies back to Ukraine... foreign mercenaries paid by our dollars... contractors who put themselves forward in the game... and of course, for our Special Forces who touched down "in country" to give assistance.
And to quote from the famous words of Francis Pharcellus Church, "Yes, Virginia. There is a Santa Claus".

Never trust a man with the middle name "Pharcellus". It is a rare, and basically non-existent ancient name. I did locate a blurb, "The numerical value of Pharcellus in Chaldean numerology is 3." And a query redirected me to "Did you actually mean paracelsus or pyrocellulose".
So yes, Virginia. There is a Santa Claus. In fact, there are 157 million Santa Claus in the United States. I would like a refund, please.
