You can't kill his ill-gained reputation. You cannot eat him alive in public.  But his university did coddle Jason Ordinary Day.  And then he was milked  daily to support a narrative.

I believe in color-and-gender-blind entrance to universities based only on meritocracy.  And then - independent and rigorous testing the freshman year; because certain individuals are tapped and tracked for "greatness" long before they learn the meaning of the word "entitled" or the phrase "guilty white pleasure".  It is a pleasure, of course, to allow certain individuals to punch above their weight, to plegiarize, cheat, and charm their way into degrees which are undeserved.  And it is immoral to consider how a college entrance essay about a deprived childhood might place a Shetland pony at the starting gate of the Kentucky Derby.  The stallion is ignored.
