The European Commission Shreds the Treaty of Westphalia
Every worn out mother will tell you that next to the Treaty of Westphalia, the microwave oven is the most significant achievement of mankind.
Actually, most mothers are probably unaware of the aforementioned treaty. Until my sons entered school, I had very little time to read. I was... using the microwave.
But Europe's leaders? They have allowed the European Union... the U.N..... and the European Commission to tear the Treaty of Westphalia to shreds. This wonderful document opened the door for Europe to cast aside medieval practices and gave birth to the sturdy concept of nation-states: sovereign governments with definable sovereign borders, and an understood ability that man is innately able to manage his own affairs if only a few good men rise to the occasion. Men of character and understanding can anchor a state. And men of criminal tendencies and foolish aspirations end up in charge of.... pick your favorite shit hole.
Europe has, indeed, returned to a form of medievalism which has created a dark new age across the continent. And as traditions are erased, treasuries are raided by the arriving hordes, and demands are made against the citizens by the newly arrived throngs, Europe needs to restock their moats with the necessary alligators.

Let's deconstruct the first lie. "Asylum is a fundamental right."
Who, exactly, decided this as a primacy issue in the decades since World War II? And the intelligent can grasp that while the Geneva Convention and concurrent protocols spoke to an age, the thoughts are not etched in eternity. History is allowed to fade a bit as future challenges make demands on us as sentient beings to discover what works (and does not work) for our own generation. Core concepts can be updated with new practice models; but application of old practice models has given Europe a clunky Rube Goldberg machine.
"EU members have a shared responsibility...."
Who was clever enough to use the words "shared responsibility" instead of "comprehensive burden"? Asylum seekers... refugees... and gigantic human trafficking caterpillars remain the greatest threat against a (future) vibrant Europe.
Let me pick a fight with Germany - because I have friends who have left Berlin and moved to Budapest, because they cannot stand what Germany has become.
When will Germany rediscover their "inner Nazi"? Already, I can imagine the hate mail, shutting down of my writing, and if living in England, the police hauling me off to jail. In an age of sound bites, nobody can follow through with a scandalous phrase nor thought, now can they?
No, I am not writing about running rough-shod over illegal aliens, nor do I speak to that vile philosophy which targeted Jews as undesirables; nor that callous disregard Germany showed when Hell-bent on shoving the Jews into ovens and mowing them down in trenches in the forest. I speak of efficiency. (I am just picking on 21st century Germans because of their continued neuroticism and inability to shed the guilt of what did not happen on their watch.)
Where is the German efficiency to identify, deport, and repatriate what might possibly be one million illegal entries? Better to be misunderstood by the world than to be despised by your own citizens. But isn't that pretty much the case across Europe today?
Read my lips: That - is - not - this. This is not about unusual cruelty. But this is about the need to recognize a return to a Sovereign Rights Movement which honors the concept of generational rights and blessings which should be afforded (first) to the citizen.

Germany... England... Italy... Greece... etc. You can turn the corner but you must be willing to be misunderstood. You must be willing to withstand the pressure of the tens of thousands of churned out stories which show the sad faces of those who are in the process of being repatriated to what is their legal status in their homeland. Journalists tend to be lazy. The aforementioned hairballs can be coughed up in the time it takes to heat a pizza in the microwave.
Look at this in a different way. Hell, use it for a narrative. You are giving them a gift. The gift is a return to a legal status. They will not remain stateless on your soil. They will return to their former state. smile
Or - you can just continue with the usual shit. It is up to you to return to the valuable insights regarding state's rights offered by the Treaty of Westphalia.
