Oman continues to punch above their weight due to their geographic significance and the ongoing cobblestone diplomacy efforts of Iran.



In the background, the efforts of our U.S. Department of Treasury with the announcement from Scott Bessent of the launch of "Operation Economic Outcast" to dry up sources of funding for the IRGC and for Iran.  These immediate sanctions target more than sixty companies, individuals and vessels across the globe in an attempt to isolate Iran and/or enforce policy goals.  I doubt Iran will even blink.  Because we cannot sanction what we do not know about; and my guess is Iran is cooking a lot of deals with her allies of which we will remain unaware.

Something which should be innate, what I figured out when very young, is that if you ask the wrong question you get the wrong answer.  It was the wrong question to ask if Iran was nearing capability to create a nuclear device.  The answer might be "yes",  but we have spent tens of billions of dollars for this conflict when if we had asked the right question, stability might have prevailed.  

The right question should have been, "If nuclear armed, will Iran become the aggressor and attack their neighbors with a pre-emptive strike?"  I believe the answer is "no".  Time was on our side with this second question.  The aforementioned, placed us - and not Iran - on a war footing.

The fact that data from Kepler showed that only one cargo ship crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Monday just illustrates the very fine pickle that we have gotten ourselves into... and that pickle is a dill. If our collective anus is not tightening up tighter than a frog's ass over all of this mess, our salivary glands are probably dry.  I doubt we have enough collective spit to make a difference. Iran is going to do, what Iran is going to do.

Watching Russia tonight because of the rumors floating about regarding our C.I.A. director in Moscow. Not a lot of information available.  

But what one Russian X site is offering is the CCTV footage of the assassination of Yunis Yushpayev on Sunday.   The assassin just calmly walked down the stairs after completing his task.  He has been apprehended.  But undoubtedly, in fine Mafia fashion, his family will be taken care of in generous manner; and a vicious turf war is probably breaking out.   The Godfathers really do exist.
