Decade I:  Establishment

Decade II: Expansion

1962:  "You will be the first sign of our presence."  (Arsenal p. 18)  Arrival of the first members of the Muslim Brotherhood in North America with their assigned tasks.

1965:  Establishment

Focus on acquisition of small properties for modest footprint-single function masajid.  Already in focus: purchase of farmlands for later expansion efforts.

1975: Expansion

Addition of charity flanks to mosques for revenue generation. During these years there was no official accounting for the receipt of cash gifts.  Saudi funds also made an appearance in the form of financial grants for construction of new masajid.  While these were not matching grants, some fundraising efforts provided $50,000-$70,000 in cash donations.  Ohio led the pack.

(My personal belief?  Saudi Arabia presents as an ally in foreign affairs.  I consider them enemies of the state regarding their operational goals for U.S. domestic policy.)

When a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood inaugurated the opening of a new mosque in 1983, members across the globe were in attendance.  Expansion now included not only charity flanks but movement toward greater Da'wah activities and training of Da'iyah.

1985:  Secret Call

America began to receive a robust complement of educated professional members of Al Ikhwan.  The epaulette were not on  uniforms.  The men who arrived wore Western suits, were multi-lingual (German, English, Arabic... etc) had both linguistic and cultural fluency, and hailed from fields of Islamic jurisprudence, medicine, political and social sciences, mathematics, engineering, and careers from prior professorships.

1988:  Establishment

Islamic Foundations and Islamic Associations were being firmly established.  

There began to be a push for recruitment within our prisons which later led to substantial successes through the Federal Chaplaincy Program.  The black male prison population was targeted because of their disenfranchisement within greater society.  Conversion.  Introduction to mosque life on release.  Arranged marriages with a "nice Muslim girl" introduced by the imam.  * It was a black Ethiopian male, the slave set free by Prophet Muhammad who was first tasked with the call to prayer.  His name was Bilal - which remains a popular name for male neonates.  (Arsenal p. 106)

The Federal Chaplaincy Program allowed for the introduction of dangerous, resistant beachheads within our incarcerated populations.  (When you have someone close to Osama bin Laden passing out pamphlets, you might have a completely separate issue.)

Masajid also began expanding campus perimeters.  And the inclusion of Islamic schools were seen as admirable projects.  As it stand today, there are masajid which have taken on the task of "Sunday Schools" programs for their students to assure their attention cannot be diverted toward the standard church experiences in America.   There will be no Jahiliyyah. 

Efforts were also mounted to provide Islamic Youth Camps which would funnel students into the already established Brotherhood-sponsored organizations on university campus. (Arsenal p. 82, 88-89)

During this time, media flanks were also in motion.  Islamic TV (Islamic Information Services) gained a footing in the market.

1998:  Expansion

September 11th brought to a halt some expansion efforts as there was a re-calibration and reset to spin things up to deal with the anger and disgust for what our nation had observed on that day.  One opportunity was taken by Dr. Bilal Philips - who was tasked with targeting American soldiers for conversion to Islam prior to their deployment. One of the most important selections in my library was written by this man, a book which was published in Saudi Arabia.  This involved what I called "compensated theft" from our local library.  I merely chose not to return it, and paid a fine.  Worth every dollar.

There was also an increase in Da'iyah training.  This was more rote in nature and not like the mentorship/silsila which anchors the higher ranks of the Brotherhood.  

Masajid began to earnestly host "inter-faith" dinners. (There is no such thing.  Islam attaching itself to Christianity creates a political chimera which sheds the coat of our beliefs.)  

I attended three such events.  One with a former Pakistani ambassador - a thoughtful and kind man.  Another event was attended with "Santa Claus" in tow.  This man played Santa at Nordstrom's Department Store each year and I chose him for my wing man.  A solitary action when I was cloistered within the scholar-in-residence's office after the event (we were admiring his own library) should have seen us beaten and tossed onto the sidewalk.  When "Santa" casually shared his misadventure even my usual sense of humor did not take hold.   I never informed him of his transgression.  

It was at a third event that I first took note of the da'wah directed toward the Hispanic community (Arsenal p. 90).  Swag bags contained a Spanish Qur'an and a transliteration from Arabic by Al-Mawdudi.  I had the work on my bookshelf.  A conceptual arch used with Hispanic immigrants is Hajj; having left their homes, travel, etc. it is fairly self-explanatory.

2008:

There is no longer the need for a secret call.  The Muslim Brotherhood has moved into the highest reaches of U.S. government and this includes Department of Homeland Security. Para-parliamentary and political structures are being superimposed over our Republic; imprints like wax seals.  Soft - with the appearance of no real harm.  Mosques have worked to establish family courts. Problematic is their ability to cover up domestic violence against women and children and keep Child Protective Services at bay.  When you read this next link, take note of this important sentence fragment:

Ahhh, yes.  Run it through the mosque.  Keep pulling out your wife's fingernails.

There is also a sustained frontal assault now to bring coercive control over our Republic by making demands for Halal foods in public schools and our public institutions.   The Brotherhood worked hard to bring about Zabiha certification to restaurants.  I have eaten in many such restaurants and this is a nail that does not require a hammer, if the restaurant is owned by a Muslim.

But it must be remembered that Halal breaks down to Hal Al.  A "state" before Allah.  This "state" has no standing in the land of the free and the home of the brave, not when brought by force.

England - because they are stupid - caved to nonsense years ago.  But I am now taking note of child actors making the news in America; students demanding halal food in public schools.  Here is the principle.  Your conviction requires YOUR sacrifice and not mine.  Neither can my tax dollars be used to support your personal belief.  The Jewish population certainly understands this principle. The Orthodox will observe kosher requirements without making demands on the taxpayer.

The whole issue of "unstunned" meat is also ridiculous.  I once saw the slaughter of a sheep. The poor animal suffered greatly, kicking its legs, thrashing about.  When I questioned it, I was informed the animal was dead.  "It is just it's spirit leaving its body."  Nope.  It was not pretty.

Bottom line?  Know thy Qur'an.  Read Qur'an 5:5. Yep. They are allowed to eat "our food".

Once again - this is a tool for coercive control.  So I vehemently oppose Halal standards enforced with the use of my tax dollars. Pack your kids a lunch.

Since 9/11 Islamic Centers are re-branding and not using names such as "Dar al Islam" and such. They are softening their image.  If you are a Muslim in Toledo, Ohio you are undoubtedly proud if the name Tulaitalah is used.  It is the Arabic name for Toledo - a city in Spain which sustained a strong civilization anchor for Islam because of the early settlers who migrated from Lebanon. Unfortunately, the massacre of the Muslims in Tulaitalah should bother us every bit as much as the slaughter of Armenian Christians before the ultimate demise of the Ottoman Sultanate.

I mentioned farmlands earlier, so let me mention the fight in Texas against EPIC -  East Plano Islamic Center.   This concept finds its root in 1962.  The acquisition of farmlands for large mosque complexes, surrounded by increasing concentric circles of Muslim neighborhoods effectively establishes an Islamic Waqf.  This is actually the model used by the Ottoman Sultanate. 

Germany, France, and England - because they are stupid - now deal with "No Go" zones.  Our Governor Greg Abbott, because he is not stupid, is slapping back.

We are also closing ablution stations at our airports.  Once again, your conviction requires your sacrifice and not mine.  Taxpayer funds should be denied for ablution stations, and as in the case of DFW Airport, an ablution station funded by "private donors" is also being shut down. There is no place in the public square or lanes of commerce for what I call "daily regimented and structured" practices.  As such, prayer in a park during Eid al Fitr?  Yes.  Prayer mats on streets every day and ablution stations and allocation of prayer spaces for Muslim students in public institutions?  Absolutely not. We are America.

Two other issues - one is Islamic banking practices (i.e. prohibition of Riba), or "Tafaful" financial branches on U.S. soil must not be allowed.  Lacking sufficient regulation, they may provide cover for money laundering and criminal activities on U.S. soil.

The final issue is paradigm shifts (creation of a historical gestalt) which supplants our Founding Fathers as being the originators of our anchoring thoughts and documents with claims that our republic exists because of Islamic thought.  Nope.

Tired of writing, so a quick recap of goals which were in existence in 1962:

Farmland acquisition for large mosques and neighborhoods which serve as Islamic Waqf.  And while this denotes charitable endowments it can be broadened to mean irrevocable, perpetual demographics.  This includes "Islamic names" for streets. My city boasts two robust communities with Muslim majority demographics and a third modest new venture - Barcelona Estates - with the entry point a street named "UmYousef".  Now once again, everything cannot be reduced to conspiracy.  But everything must be thoughtfully considered.  Because even the naming of streets was being considered as part of the Muslim Brotherhood vision in 1962. 

Vibrant foundations and associations.

Youth and college outreaches.

Media flanks.

Halal industry.

Publishing houses for Da'wah.

Banks.

Courts.

Prayer rooms in public spaces.

In other words -  Islamic society imprinted over the land of the free.  It must not be allowed.

The Muslim Brotherhood in America is not Az-Zariyat (the winds that scatter). They are a mighty wind which gathers.  They are Al Adiyat - those that run toward their goals for America.  They are the swift steeds, the war horses of geopolitical Islam.

The poor Muslim waiter at a local restaurant is not your enemy.  He might just need a good friend. We must continue to be good neighbors toward our Muslim population.  I have written with a focus on the Muslim Brotherhood. They are not "the average" Muslim. Far from it! But they are a powerfully intellectual geopolitical force and we must remain aware of their goals.
