Forget the Pagers

While serving in the USNR,  we were introduced to the concept of the miniaturization of exploding devices and instructed on how easily a box for a deck of cards could be converted into a maiming device.

Forget the exploding pagers.  Now, you can bite into a chocolate bar instead.  The narrative is the Ukrainians built the devices; located by the Russians within the battlespace. I am unable to confirm the narrative.

As a Naval officer who served in the nurse corps I retain reservations regarding weapons of war with a sole purpose of maiming the enemy.  Weapons that protect our oath keepers but also  efficiently and quickly kill our uniformed enemies?  Yes.  But mass production of weapons which might maim the general public?  Nope.  

It would seem logical that in the aftermath of any war, a healthy labor force must remain for the necessary rebuilding and a return to societal homeostasis.  Our enemies of a prior decade may prove our allies in the next decade.

My goal is never to be popular. But my goal is that you consider how just wars are fought - because there is such a thing.  Subdue the enemy. But avoid risks to the civilian, non-combatant population. Do not scatter about miniaturized IED's which may be grasped by a small set of fingers. It is evil.
