Hyphen:  The Great Attainment

We live on the dash.  You know, that little dash between date of birth and date of death.

November 24, 1968 - September 11, 2001.

Todd Beamer.

He had just made a five-day dash to Italy with his wife and returned home on September 10th.

The next morning, he boarded a flight for a business commute to California.

It was his last dash.

I chose Todd Beamer for this post because  he was one of several fathers who never got to experience the birth of his neonate.

Morgan Kay Beamer.

She was born on January 9, 2002.

Hyphenated lives.  All because nineteen Muslim pricks (contemptible men) ambushed the innocent and considered it righteousness.  Nineteen men perfumed with the scent of musk boarded their flights with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads.  Actually, they envisioned their martyred souls flying about in emerald-colored birds.

They struck a bargain with Allah for their souls.  Martyrdom for Paradise.  We did not ask to be part of that bargain.

SIGNAL - SIGNAL - SIGNAL

Abdul Ala Maududi:

"Surely, Allah has purchase of the believers their lives and their belongings and in return has promised that they will have Paradise. They fight in the way of Allah, and slay and are slain.  Rejoice, then, in the bargain you made with Him.  That indeed is the mighty triumph."

Sahih International

"Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties (in exchange) for that they will have Paradise.  They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed... So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted.  And it is that which is the great attainment."

Qur'an 9:111

Islam - heal thyself.
