تجهیز به سونار تصویربرداری جانبی، حسگرهای دقیق محیطی و سامانه‌های ثبت داده از مهم‌ترین قابلیت‌های آن است.

این هدیه آمریکا، اکنون در اختیار متخصصان این نیرو، به منظور بازیابی اطلاعات آن، قرار گرفته است.

The IRGC Navy has captured an advanced, intelligent unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) known as the Remus 600.

What are the features of the REMUS 600?

It is an advanced, American-made autonomous unmanned underwater vehicle designed for missions such as underwater reconnaissance, seafloor mapping, mine detection and classification, environmental data collection, and the search for subsurface targets.

The system can operate at depths of up to approximately 600 meters. Relying on inertial navigation, DVL (Doppler Velocity Log) systems, acoustic navigation, and GPS (upon surfacing), it can execute the majority of its mission autonomously, without requiring constant communication with an operator.

Key capabilities include its equipment with side-scan sonar, precise environmental sensors, and data-logging systems.

This "gift" from the US is now in the hands of the force's specialists for data recovery.

(Additional news coming out of Tehran which serves as a reminder that in America, we do not punish our journalists.  The POTUS should not be allowed to win his tug-of-war with the White House Press Corps.  Journalists have a right to criticize public officials and should be allowed to do so without fear of penalty.  It is my belief that the worst of  journalists will eventually wash out of the system due to their lack of ethics.  They eventually choke on their own words.  These things eventually take care of themselves in  Darwinian manner.  wink  

Iran's judiciary has issued a ruling against Abbas Abdi - an accomplished political commentator for Etemad newspaper.  Following the publication of an op-ed by Abbas Abdi in *Etemad* newspaper, the Tehran Prosecutor's Office filed charges against both the author and the newspaper regarding the public aspect of the offense. After preliminary investigations, formal notification of charges, and the issuance of a judicial order banning media activity, the case was heard by the Tehran Province Criminal Court (Branch 1), which issued a verdict.

Under the ruling, Abbas Abdi was sentenced to one year of enforceable imprisonment. The court also ordered a two-month suspension of *Etemad* newspaper's operations and publication. As the defendants have appealed, the case has been referred to the Supreme Court, and a final verdict has not yet been issued.  But this is not the first time that Abbas Abdi has been targeted due to his activities.

Iran continues to purge intelligence and military ranks to create a more cohesive hard-line base.  So it is not surprising Tehran is also protecting their ideological fence posts  with the arrest of journalists.
