Independence Day! As I traveled to our polling station today it was with a sense of tremendous gratitude.  And while we celebrate our Independence on the 4th of July, nothings smacks of independence more that the ability to cast a vote without fear.  I visited with several of my neighbors, turned down the "I voted" sticker and returned home. This has been the first election with massive intrusion into my cell phone. A Neglected Europe My father and mother loaded three small children  (2.5, 1.5, and seven months of age ) into a vehicle and traveled from Washington State to Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico and never looked back.  Years later, the family grew to eight members when my youngest sibling was born with the help of a mid-wife in Oaxaca, Mexico.  With a heart full of love, my father did what he could for the poorest of the poor.  What he never did, was to neglect his own family.  He would have considered it a grievous sin.
